3 out of 4 ain't bad

Our 1s played host to Ealing Trailfinders, looking to continue their strong start to the season. We bowled first and made an early breakthrough, but Trailfinders made a solid start and looked good in the early overs. The introduction of Zac Bayliss, though, changed things. 94-1 became 110-8 as Bayliss (7-51) ripped through the line-up. A lower-order partnership and 50 from their number 8 steadied things for them at the end and pushed them to 193 all out. A total that would prove very challenging.
Our reply faltered early with two wickets falling and never really got going in earnest. Starts were made - Tasin Iqbal (34), Tony Sayers (37), Zac Bayliss (29) - but wickets fell regularly. And, at 139-7, things were really in the balance. But, Harry Wilkins showed a wise head - a bit of a hallmark of his batting this season - to guide the lower order towards the total. Things were tense, but Harry (32*) saw us home.

Our 2s went over to Bessborough and chose to bat first. At 115-0, looked very good. Ajay (64) and Chris Beale (46) got us off to a great start. However, we weren't really able to kick on from there with confidence. 115-0 became 130-4 and, despite Adeeb's 56*, we struggled to push on to a large total, finishing 208-7 from our 55 overs.
With the ball, despite taking wickets at intervals, we just weren't able to really build pressure on our opponents andd they came home victorious by 6 wickets.

Our 3s made it look easy in comparison. For the third week in a row, they were back at the club before 16.00 - though, this week was for a good reason again. Bowling first, our opening pair of Jawad (6-30) and Adnan (4-12) ripped through Kenton, dismissing them for 49 inside 22 overs.
In reply, it took us just 8.4 overs and two wickets to knock off the runs and take the win. Not much else to say!

Our 4s faced an away trip to a familiar ground, as they visited Botany Bay. We fielded first and bowled excellently - all of our bowlers keeping it tight and restricting the Botany Bay batters. Joe Simons (2-13) and Dimuthu Hewage (2-19) the pick as we dismissed them for 125.
With the bat, we never seemed under pressure, especially as Seb Liddle took charge of the chase, hitting 64*, as we won by 8 wickets.

On Sunday, our MDL side lost to Middlesex Mavericks.
